Karl R. Zawoy – CEO
Karl holds 30+ years in business development and product commercialization for Fortune 100 and early-stage startup companies. He developed and launched multiple medical device products for companies, including CD Medical, Johnson & Johnson, Novoste, and Biofield. He recently served as the Director of the Santa Fe College Innovative Product Development Center in Gainesville, Florida helping more than 70 startup CEOs raise investment and launch new products. Karl earned an MS degree in Computer Science from Nova Southeastern University and a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida. He is an inventor on 15 patents and a Registered Technology Transfer Professional.
Dr. Stephen F. Larner – COO
Dr. Stephen Larner, PhD, CPA, MMgmt, is the CEO and founder of BioRegency, Inc., a company dedicated to developing and validating biomarkers for traumatic brain injury and treatment. He is also COO for Oak Bay Botanicals, Inc. Stephen earned a Master of Management from Northwestern University, a PhD in Neuroscience from University of Florida, and is an inventor on five patent applications, with more than 25 years of business experience.
Elaine T. Buice, RN
Elaine is a registered nurse and the Clearikon™ Touchless Bandage inventor. She has been practicing wound care for 26 years. In 2002, she was awarded “Nurse of the Year” for District 11 in Georgia for Wound Care Innovations. She is a member of the Nursing Association of Georgia and holds a MS Degree of Esthetician, BSN, BS in Psychology, and is an inventor on 6 patents.
Susan Powers, BSBA, MBC
Susan is our Director of Business Development. She brings extensive experience in scaling product sales and project management.
Dr. Carolin von Rosenberg, DVM, Animal Study Advisor
Dr. Carolin von Rosenberg is the owner of Buena Vista Farm, Inc. She is a 1989 graduate of North Carolina State University, and has focused her practice on equine reproduction for over 20 years. She especially enjoys the challenge of the "problem" mare, and never gets tired of the joy that the new foals bring. In her free time, Dr. von Rosenberg enjoys spending time with her husband, Paul, and son, Marcus. Together they love to travel, spend time at the beach, and enjoy breeding their own Thoroughbreds, as well as raise chickens and play with their dogs.
Kaitlyn Canton, Farm Manager and Animal Study Advisor
Kaitlyn works closely with Dr. Carolin Von Rosenberg, DVM at the Buena Vista Farm and Equine Reproduction Facility in Ocala Florida. She worked with Clearikon and the Buena Vista team on numerous projects to develop new products. She worked with Dr. Carolin Von Rosenberg on equine protocols, trials, and case studies.
Ryan Walczak, PhD, DVM - Product Advisor
Dr. Ryan Walczak, DVM (Virginia Tech), PhD (Polymer and Organic Chemistry, Univ. of FL), is Chief of Staff at Kindness Animal Hospital and is an author on several patents and scientific publications. He will provide expertise into the research of a canine model of the Clearikon Smart Bandage. Ryan Walczak is part of the Clearikon product development team developing novel medical devices, organic materials, therapeutics, and new drugs with an emphasis in the veterinary medical sector.
Alexander Oliferenko, PhD - Product Advisor
Dr. Alex Oliferenko is an expert in industrial, environmental, and personal care chemistry. He consults with the Clearikon product development team as a creative problem solver on product development and manufacturing of our topical products including research, manufacturing, and regulatory issues.
